Last week, terrible tragedy struck one of our young associates when her father was killed after fire engulfed their farm house in Green County, Wisconsin. Fortunately, her mother and sisters were able to escape the blaze, but are now left in shock to pick up the pieces while they grieve their loss. Certainly our thoughts and prayers are with Amanda and her family. Such tragedies serve as a stark reminder for each of us to be thankful for all with which we have been blessed. Our staff has been pulling together clothes, household items and other needs to help them get restarted. And of course, donations to help them.

Dear Amanda,
I wish to leave my heart full of love for you and your mom. I am so sorry for your dad’s loss and especially his guidance and love for you. I, too, lost my husband 3 1/2 years ago in a tragic accident on our way to a farm equipment auction in West Texas. I was driving and to this day, do not know what happened. I have read the police reports and newspapers, but still do not know. I drove off of an overpass bridge to the street below, 65 feet down. Our 1 ton flatbed bounced around, turned over and crushed my husband under it. I did not know that he was gone for a week until I was taken to the funeral home for a viewing–his. We had big hay operation–personal and for others, a fertilizer and lime distributorship and now I find myself running the business. With God’s help, I go through the days, but miss him tremendously. With your faith in God and your prayers for guidance, you will survive.
My husband and his dad had a Dairy also, and a few years ago, sold the cows and closed it up. He was seriously considering opening it back up after we got married and were doing so well together. I am glad that did not come to fruition.
We gave a donation to Amanda’s family. We send our prayers from NY. We are a small, family dairy. We wish we could do more. God Bless, John & Shawn Gnipper/Brass Bell Farm
